Dressmaking Courses
This course caters for those who wish to learn how to make up a commercial pattern in a fabric
of their choice. Students are shown how to cut out, sew fit and finish.
Teaching is by individual attention to meet different levels from beginners to advanced.
Beginners are advised to choose a simple pattern of a skirt or trousers to enable them to learn
basic sewing techniques while students at a more advanced level may choose a more complicated pattern eg. dress, suit or coat.
Evening Course
Students may join at any time, booking for a minimum of 10 consecutive weeks.
Classes are held on Mon, Tues. Wed. or Thurs- 7-9pm.

All ages are welcome, young to mature.

Alterations & Upstyling Garments, Sew Save & Have Fun

Course content: Learn how to do basic alterations with hems, zips (standard & invisible), waistbands, taking in or letting out garments or bring along a few old favourites in your wardrobe to update, refit, restyle, recut and sew into a new and exciting garment. Beginners & advanced welcome. Teaching is by individual attention in small groups to your level and requirements. From the more basic & essential life skill alterations to upstyling we will teach you how to make your garments more fashionable and wearable.
Equipment: Bring a selection of clean garments that you once liked but never seem to wear e.g., skirts, trousers, jeans, dresses, jackets, coats, T-shirts sweaters, evening wear, special occasion wear, vintage pieces, fabrics from your stockpile, accessories including jewellery, old buttons, ribbons, lace, in fact anything that inspires you... A variety of coloured threads, sewing needles, pins, scissors, tape measure, a seam ripper and A 4 sketch pad with pens & pencils.
