Part-time Fashion Design Courses

Grafton Academy

Evening Course - Fashion Design Introductory and Ongoing Modules to design and make for yourself.

On this course students will learn how to make patterns to individual measurements and sew their own designs. Teaching is by individual attention.
An initial booking for a minimum of 18 consecutive classes is required for the introductory course but for those who wish to develop their pattern making and sewing skills, it is possible to undertake further modules.
Students may choose to book for more then one session a week.

Special application for Diploma Course by evening classes can be made after a minimum of 36 classes have been undertaken over the year, one evening per week for Pattern Drafting and Garment Assembly.

An additional 12 classes in Fashion Sketching is required, to be taken concurrently. Satisfactory progress in all subjects is required before an application with interview is considered.

Capital-D

Day Part-time Fashion Design Course

One can attend daily on a part-time basis, mornings or afternoon to enable oneself to juggle the course with part-time work or family committments. Please ring the office for more details.

Saturday Fashion Design Course

This 10 week beginners and introductory course is for those who wish to learn how to
design and make patterns to their own measurements. Sewing is also included, after
the student has constructed the pattern. Teaching is by individual attention with an
order for each module. Further classes can be taken to build up skills & techniques.

Summer Holiday Courses

During the summer months the Grafton Academy offers a 2,3, or 4 week introductory course in Dress Designing.
Students are encouraged to design, cut patterns and make up one or two of their own creations.
Teaching is by individual attention and the course provides both an ideal way of finding out about this as a career
and for those who are not stock size wishing to make their own patterns. All ages are welcome, from young to mature.
