Awear Project - 2009

In 2009, there was a very innovative collaboration between AWear & The Grafton Academy where young and emerging graduates were given the opportunity to produce and sell professionally in a top fashion store.

Suzanne Marr, Principal of the Grafton Academy, said "AWear is to be congratulated for what in my opinion is rather a break through to encourage and support our young designers of the future. After all our young designers are on the ground & know what their contemporaries want to wear. It is the kind of support we need in the Industry"

The project in which 8 emerging designers participated was a huge success. It was only supposed to be for 1 month on Saturdays in the AWear Attic, Henry Street but owing to the good feedback on sales & the designers' professionalism, it went on for a further month.
